So after the 5 kids adventure, which happily isn’t ever really finished, and a little bistro/live music venue adventure, which was ‘the wonderful, terrible time’, I’m off to art school this Fall. It’s taken pretty much my whole life to find my way here – which seems rather un-self aware for all the clothes I’ve ruined with paint, glue and plaster and all the times I’ve said, ‘if I could do it again, I’d go to art school’.
I’m a lover of words, ideas, music, thought, psychology, science, history, europe and chilling over coffee or white wine, Oh, and so much more. I can’t imagine one lifetime as nearly enough to experience all the wonder of this world…
How exciting… let us know how this exciting journey pans out.. we never need to stop learning, especially in the art world… good luck!
thanks – appreciate the encouragement!
My mother went back to art school after having 4 children! She is now a practicing Interior Designer and loves it – Best of luck to you!
kudos to your mom! and thanks.
What a great blog – thanks for visiting mine! 🙂
thanks, i enjoy yours also!
Well, thankfully I believe in reincarnation, so you probably do have more than one lifetime to figure it all out. Sound like you’re doing fine anyway, though! 🙂
thanks jennifer! 🙂
Art school! That is awesome! Best of luck to you on your new journey!
thanks, and to you on yours also – very wonderful time of life you’re in!

A kindred spirit! I have decided to throw off the traditional religious training and go “spiritual” which for me means creativity! I am inspired by your blog posts. Keep them coming!
thanks, always great to find kindred spirits!
I am going to follow you because your path sounds so interesting and I can relate to taking on new challenges, regardless of age. Isn’t it fun!
awesome, thanks. yes, fun indeed.
You are so right! There just isn’t enough time in one life to do, feel, experience and love it all. But we try! Thrilled for your new adventure… let the journeys continue.
thanks, yes, nothing like a good adventure. 🙂
Good luck with your art school adventure. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Best,
Nirnajan

Excellent! I left my very wonderful job of 27 years and have gone back to school, too – also in a practical field…writing. But I think being in school in my 50s is THE BEST! Congrats on your choice. I agree – way too much adventure to only live once!
Thanks for following my blog!
that’s wonderful to hear. I have some classes starting this summer and the closer it gets, the more I wonder what i’m getting myself into. thanks for the encouragement. and all the best on your adventure too.
It’s a pleasure to meet you. :0) I’m glad to meet another artist on WordPress! (Where are they all?) Kudos to you for making your way to art school- that’s huge! Especially at 50 something. I wish you all the best there. I’d love to see your work some time. Take care. -Birgitta
thanks, pleasure to meet you too! I went to the category list on the reader page and typed in art topics I was interested in to find artist blogs. but wouldn’t it be AWESOME to find it all organized in one place – like a ‘wordpress for artists’ page… your photos and blog are lovely. all the best to you too.
Hi Lori! Wow, what a neat blog! Thank you for following mine! Please “like” any other posts you find interesting an/or appealing, because that will help me decide what to post in the near future! 🙂

Love your new header photos! They’re fabulous and make me want to take a second look. Nice job!
Thanks! I thought they were pretty fabulous too, they’re called ‘hipster in stone’. The artist is Leo Caillard – and this is the link to his site;

Love your blog. Very interesting story on Leonardo too. Looks like we have been blogging around about the same length of time.
Thank you, I’ve spent far too long poking around the articles on your blog also! Nice to meet you!
Your last line is exactly how I feel. There’s too many fun creative things to try, too many wonderful stories to hear or things to learn to fit everything all in during this one life. 🙂 I look forward to reading your new posts and catching up on your old ones. 🙂
Hi Rebecca, oh your paintings are so beautiful! Looking forward to following your adventure!
Thank you so much. And I have very much enjoyed your art history information. That’s something I am interested in, am intimidated by and usually don’t get to spend very much time in. I’ll give you art to look at and you can break down the art history for me.
Lori, I hope your journey through art school has been a blast so far! Thank you for visiting and following my blog, I really appreciate it.
Lori – thank you for your kind comments and likes on my blog – I’m mortified when someone sincere “Follows” me because I’m frequently convinced the last post really will be and should be the LAST post. You’ve got a far more erudite and enthusiastic blog of your own which I love peering into.
Please, don’t make any of your posts, your last! I’m literally dying to read and banter about history and your posts are so interesting, well researched and informative! My blog is far from erudite, (but thanks!) I’m just a blustery first year art history student with no time to waste. 😉 So pleased to meet you.
Lori, I forgot to mention, you should open up the share box to include Twitter, Facebook, Google+ etc. I hope you don’t mind I would like share you post through my social media sites ?
Hi Robert, I’ll do that. If you’d like to share a post, please, go ahead. 🙂 Thanks!
