Sometimes I Dream in Italian…

…of century old cathedrals, cypress trees and hand polished statues,  of chalk art on Florentine streets, Venetian gondolas, the Roman Empire and the Renaissance..

Bella Italia, un giorno io verrò.

Quiet Monday…

It’s kind of a slow Monday afternoon here.  This weekend was a happy whirlwind of prom dresses, engagement parties and celebrations.   I’m taking a bit of time now, musing on the upcoming blush toned June wedding I’m helping a friend with.  I really should be reading about the ‘perspectival overlay showing the orthogonals and vanishing point for Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper’ but I’m still lost in dreamland…

Sueños Mexicano…

Even though it’s been gorgeous here on the West Coast all week, my restless heart is lusting today after a Mexican hacienda.  Last night I totally relinquished my sense of contentment to just 30 minutes of House Hunters International.  Damn that show.

I have a rather romantic notion of Mexico in spite of it’s darker side.  Flamboyant hot pink bougainvillea, white washed stairs ways, hidden garden courtyards, Spanish architecture,  Frida and Diego…  Wouldn’t it be lovely to drop everything and just go?

A little moody sunday afternoon repose…

I have aspirations of repose today – long, spicy chai tea lattes, historical novels, faded flowers, crinkly gowns,  maybe a little painting.  But I’m about to head out to the muddy fields of the peony farm in the April rain to scout out some summer wedding bouquet flowers.  So I suppose for now,  I’ll have to fulfill my aspirations in other ways…
